My path to college consulting has been anything but traditional. For more than a decade, I advised executive teams on how to articulate their unique value propositions and build strategic marketing and brand plans. While I loved the challenge, I found myself seeking a more personal connection to the work and its impact.

That connection came into focus when my daughter began working with an independent educational consultant to navigate her college journey. I was struck by the many parallels between business and college consulting—both require clear messaging, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of one’s goals and strengths. I realized I could apply my background in project management, communication, analysis, and brand strategy to support students and their families in a meaningful way.

After earning my College Admissions Counseling certificate from UC Berkeley and joining professional organizations IECA and WACAC, I launched LK College Consulting to guide high school students in the Bay Area and beyond as they define their personal narratives, clarify their goals, and pursue academic and professional paths that fit who they are and who they want to become. I am passionate about connecting with teens, providing personalized support and empowering them to shape their own exciting future.

I hold a B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University and a M.B.A. in Marketing from Boston University. Between degree programs, I worked in strategic communications at Ogilvy Adams & Rinehart in Chicago and developed business plans for local entrepreneurs. Our family of five lives in San Anselmo - just north of San Francisco - where we love hiking the trails with our dog, Bodhi, and spending time with friends and family.
